OUR MISSION
To provide our students with a positive & fun class room atmosphere that develops each student’s confidence and builds their character through the movement and enjoyment of dance! Our goal is for our students to learn skills through dance & tumbling that will last them a lifetime!
Showtime Dance School has been apart of the Newton community for 15 years and is owned & operated by Rhonda Taylor. Showtime is a well established business which prides itself on high quality dance & tumbling instruction by highly knowledgeable and qualified teachers. We are a high energy studio, bringing joy and confidence to students of all ages.
Our Newton studio has grown tremendously throughout the years and has expanded to accommodate our students and our parents. We have 2 dance rooms, 1 tumbling room, 3 waiting areas, a changing facility, 2 bathrooms and a dance shop. We are centrally located and have very adequate parking. (Take a tour inside of our studio)
Showtime is one of the top 5 studios in Central Iowa. Our competition team is known as one of the best in the competition circuit. Our goal is to ensure that students are being taught proper technique along with the correct terminology. It is important to us that students are provided with a positive class room atmosphere that develops each students's confidence and builds their character through the movement and enjoyment of dance!

Meet our Instructors
Rhonda Taylor
Owner and director of Showtime Dance School since 1994. She also taught at the Newton YMCA for 7 years from 1988-1994. Her 21 years of teaching Ballet,Tap,Jazz,Lyrical,HipHop and Pointe, and many years of experience in running her business have made Showtime into the outstanding studio that it is today. She regularly attends dance workshops/seminars to insure qualified and updated training for herself and her instructors & assistants. Through these seminars, Rhonda has been certified to teach and direct Ballet,Tap, Pointe,Jazz,and Creative Preschool and has excelled in all areas of dance.
Throughout the years Rhonda has had many of her dances in the top 10 and top 5 overall divisions at local competitions.
Rhonda has also won 5 TOP CHOREOGRAPHY awards that include:

Rachel Roth, Rhonda Taylor & Echo McCray
Rachel Roth
Rachel is a 2002 graduate from Showtime Dance School. She has been an instructor at our studio since 2005. Before teaching at Showtime, she was an instructor for 2 years at the Bearcat Boogie in Maryville, MO. She has also been a co-director of our award winning competition team, assisting with choreography and technique classes. Rachel attends yearly teacher conventions & workshops that certifies her to teach in areas of jazz, hiphop, tap, ballet, pointe & contemporary dance. We are very privileged to have her as one of our instructors.
Rachel is currently attending Buena Vista in Newton working towards her degree in Elementary Education. She starts her student teaching in the Fall of 2008 at one of Newton's elementary schools.

Tara Versteegh
Tara is a 2003 graduate from Showtime Dance School. She has studied Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop, Pointe, Contemporary, Broadway and Pom Cheer. After graduating, she continued her training under Emily Finch at Robert Thomas Dancenter in Newton. Tara attends yearly teacher conventions & workshops that certifies her to teach in all areas of dance. We are very privileged to have her as one of our instructors.
Tara graduated from college in may 2006 with a degree in Early Childhood education and is happily married to Josh Versteegh.
